Day of the Dead ( Dia de los Muertos) is a Mexican tradition celebrating life and death. Our day of the dead pieces feature a skull motif and depict typical everyday scenes contained in little wooden boxes. Frida Khalo is a favourite subject.
Alebrijas are fantastical little wooden animals carved out of copal wood made in villages near Oaxaca. Typically the men of the village carve and the women paint the fantastical animals.
